So to begin with my school is small with approximatly 500 students -Year7 to Year13- and has never had a Student Council or something approching as there is no representative from each year or class. It also has few clubs- around 5 to 10 maybe- but they are all over the place without any real organization. The older students sometimes organize bakesales but again, it's usually a mess. To add to that communication is definitely not the best point of the school and it is sometimes hard to even know WHEN something is going to happen, or if something IS going to happen. I'd like to think that having a student a student Council would help, but don't really know where and how to start it, having never been part of one. I have done some research, but all the results found make it seem really complicated with an extensive list of jobs:president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, public relation officers and even more. This seems a lot to me and I really don't know how to set everything up. In addition to that, the only Council there really is, is the teachers' and they only meet about 2 or 3 times a yeart from what I get. With this said, the parents have as little access as the students, with no council or representative of their own. The whole project seems really ambitious (maybe even too difficult), but I'd like to see if I can do it. To go back to the topic, could someone please explain to me the different jobs of the student Council, and how I could start it all? Thanks
