It's my last year of school and I'm in top set doing GCSE English. I haven't been in school for a while and I have this speech I have to complete next week. There are two parts: 1. I have to write at least 5 paragraphs to persuade the head teacher why schools should be closed on a snow day and then I have to have a group discussion about it. Does anyone have any tips or ideas? If you do thank you for your help, I appreciate it.

Structure it like this:
paragraph one:
Introduce the topic, explain why you are writing the essay
paragraph two - four:
Three reasons why the school should be closed with a supporting arguement, one short paragraph each
OR
Write two paragraphs one for the advantages and one for the disadvantages of closing the school on a snow day with a third paragraph for comparison of the two
paragraph five:
Closing comments, a personal opinion
An additional paragraph can be included citing examples of, a) when a school did not close on a snow day and it should have and, b), when a school closed on a snow day and it shouldn't have. This paragraph should be before your closing comments.
A simple search on "snow days", "snow day disasters", "why snow days" should give you some useful information if you can't think of any examples.
Thank you for your help! This has helped me a lot:)
Your welcome :) and good luck!
I know how to write English. I just need ideas on why schools should close when it snows
