I need help and suggestions on a cause and effect paper?

First of all... six pages! Oh, man.
There are lots of "online resources" (that's what our teachers call websites, right?) that give tons of information on writing research papers, but I'll briefly say what I know.
I'd start by writing the body paragraphs first. This is where you put in all that good information and show off the research you did. Each paragraph should be one main idea of the paper, like the cause(s), the effects, who was affected, and so on.
From there, you can write your introduction. The introduction should give enough background information necessary to understand the rest of the paper. (If you're having trouble writing six pages, you can put in some unnecessary tidbits of information in here, like the person's job, age, etc.) Then, briefly summarize in a sentence or two all your body paragraphs.
I think a conclusion is pretty much the same thing, but focuses on the effects of the event (why the event mattered) more so than what caused it.
As for cause and effect, you're right about cause being texting and driving and effect being death. You could also do cause being them dying and its effect on the community, where you probably should interview (yay, research) that person's friends or even their close family, if you have that much courage.
