I need to be ordered by someone of authority and I need to believe the thing I'm doing is needed and beneficial, why? If someone tells me to do something I believe good I'll do it but if I tell myself to do something like work out I'll start for a day or 2 then stop with no motivation to continue. I don't understand why and I hate it.

I am the same exact way! It's so frustrating. I haven't found much that helps either, but I do notice that's it's easier to stick to a routine when you do little things at a time. For example, working out -- If I jump into a rigorous routine, I'll only last 2-3 days max. But, if I start out by doing only 5 pushups a day for a week (or something along those lines), it seems easier to stick to it and increase the intensity over time. Hang in there - I know how you feel!
