The ring is really heavy compared to silver or gold which means it is probably deep in the grass. Also I have clover growing all over in the yard which makes it thick and damn near impossible to find anything. The ring, though relatively cheap, means a lot to me and I can't find a metal detector. Just figure if the grass where shorter I could find it easier but I'm so scared it will get sucked up and be destroyed. How can I find my heavy, tungsten carbide ring without a metal detector?

If the tungsten carbide ring is fused with another metal (which it usually is) you can go over the ground with a very strong rare earth magnet - preferably one with a large surface area which can be found online. If you have a mower that has adjustable blades you can set it so it doesn't mow so close to the ground. But be cautious, if the mower does strike the ring it will damage it and possibly turn it into a flying piece of shrapnel.
Good luck
