You could ask them if they are willing to wait until things calmed down in the situation and maybe they'd give it a go then. You could also send them a letter through the post explaining your love for them, what you like about them, what you want to achieve etc. because that worked for me. Or try your best to get over them, grab some ice cream, watch some of your favourite movies and invite our best friends over. Have a good time and show them what they're missing because honestly, people that can't see your worth aren't good enough for you...
