I think you should get a second opinion. This is called a "unilateral hearing loss" in the States. If the doctor says it is "totally gone" it may be a profound hearing loss in that ear. In that case, you would not benefit from a hearing aid in that ear. However, how is your hearing in the other ear? Make sure it is not decreasing also. Hearing aids can help a mild to severe loss. Yoga may help if the loss is due to fluid in the ear, but not if it is due to damage in the cochlea or nerve.
Not all hearing loss problems can be cured by yoga. So consider some reputed audiologist and make sure what the actual problem is and what is the best solution. With the modern technology, almost anything is curable. Even some hearing aids clinic like Art of Hearing offers free hearing test. So make use of these test and fix your hearing problem soon. All the best
Please disregard previous answers from the less knowledgeable regarding your loss. Baboons should stick with bananas. That said, the information you provided is inconclusive to a recommendation of a unilateral loss. It could just mean one ear is worse then the other which would be considered a bilateral asymmetrical loss. In addition to that a profound loss can often be corrected with the help of a hearing aid. We would need more information to make the decision, such as; speech discrimination score/word recognition scores and where is the loss in the low mid or higher frequencies. Most quality hearing aid locations are free and will give you a Comprehensive Evaluation" before determining you should join the Vincent Van Gogh club.
