I have a whirlpool washing machine, that stops halfway through the cycle?

I undid the filter at the bottom of the machine, and there was some material in there, we tried to figure out what the material was, and discovered it was from a pair of my partners knickers. So we wondered if they had got down the outside of the drum as she sometimes just puts clothes there untill she is ready. I looked in the manual, and it showed you how to get from inside the drum, and feel if anything was at the bottom. Sure enough there they were a pair of ripped knickers. Job sorted, but thanks for the time to write.
