I have a small single lump on my lip. It is not herpes or canker sore. No liquid, just more skin. It feels as if there is a small pea within my lip. It has never grown and has never spread. It does not hurt at all. Just very annoying to have and see. No discoloration either.
I've shaved off a few layers of skin from it, but there's just more skin, and when it heals, it looks normal (like a small bump under the skin..)
Breaking the skin usually causes bumps to spread due to infections, but not this one.

I've never had a problem with it except it being there.

I feel as if it is the "mother" or core of either herpes, cancer, or something else, but it has never done anything for the many, many years that it has been there.

I do get zit-like "herpe" breakouts when my lips are broken, cracked and irritated by spicy foods and alcohol, which I refrain from anyways.

Though when this bump is broken, cracked, or irritated, nothing occurs at all. No swelling, no pus or liquid, no blood, no spreading..

What is it??? Can it be removed or eradicated?

Please help me identify and rid this bump! It's brining down my confidence..

As a side note: I've had intercourse with 2 partners who don't have diseases, and have continued to have intercourse with other people.

The time I spent between each partner was near a year, wherein I refrained from intercourse, and to this day I abstain.

I've also had this when I was a virgin, so I couldn't have contracted it from anyone other than my parents, who, to my knowledge, don't have herpes.
