I have A Red Ear Slider turtle and want to know if i can keep it outside by making a rectangle shape in the dirt and filling that in with a large container and making it flush at the end, so it can go in and out when ever it wants in an area in my backyard. It will be secured and were the sun also hits. I will also put shade for it. I want to do that because I have a tank in side my house and it does not want to bask at all it is always in the water and yes it can go up to bask any time it wants but dont not choses to.

Yes, you can keep it outside. It's good for Sliders to get direct sunlight, so I would encourage building an enclosure outside. There's a few things you need to make sure, though:
1. Make sure the enclosure is secure, so that your turtle cannot escape.
2. It is good that you have the shady area, because too much direct sunlight is bad for the turtle. Just make sure that the shady area and the tank/water inside are easily accessible for your turtle.
3. You should always keep an eye on your turtle or check in every once and awhile to make sure he/she is okay.
