I have a question in regards to a screenplay that I am writing. The setting is the mid 1940's in NYC when an 8 yr. old prodigy, originally from North Korea , later on in the story, walks into a music shop and she picks out a violin and plays it to the amazement of the shop owner.

Thus to the audience the violin has to be incredibly sounding yet small for her age. How do I make this believable? Would a shop have such a violin in those days? The shop owner also happens to be a teacher at Juilliards which is a few blocks away. Richard
