I have a gold chain with hallmark Italy 925 anyone know what this means?

That means it was made in Italy and it is 92.5% silver, otherwise known as sterling silver. Having no K indication means it is plated and less than 10K gold, maybe no gold at all.

It is somewhat unusual to see a silver piece with a yellow surface.
