I have a gaxalxy core prime phone.. when the battery is taken out and put back in it works fine but?

I hav a galaxy core prime after awhile the screen stops working? Its still on just the screen wont work? Take out da battery put it back in works again? Why is this? And what can i do to fix it without having to go to a repair shop?
