I'm thinking of paying an auto co to transport my car from Texas to California. And I'll take a plane. but I'm not sure if they can still do it if my Camry is halfway-ish packed...

well sometimes they have companys that transport the cars for their clients price wise you would have to call a few transport companys that do that type of thing i think you would have to abide by their rules and what their standards are when it comes to transporting them
The answer to this question is no, auto transport companies cannot ship your vehicle with ANY of your personal belongings in it. The Department of Transportation does not allow auto carriers to ship cars with items inside the cars. The other reasons are they are not insured for any of your personal contents, only for the car itself, and they also operate under certain weight restrictions and any added weight will delay shipments and cause problems with your car shipment. You will need to ship your personal belongings separately.
They won't let you put anything extra in the vehicle, in fact they'll probably have you remove anything you can. Stuff inside a car can move around quite a bit even over a few hundred miles. You're better off just shipping the car and getting a shipping crate for your personal stuff. You might check A-1 Auto Transport - I think they can do both and I know they operate in both places. Might be worth a look.
