I have a 4 channel Dvr security system. Is it possible for some one to alter the dvr footage?

that is being recorded/recording or the cameras that are sending the footage to the DVR. I just want reassurance that what is being viewed is real and no one is altering the cameras or the dvr footage that is being recorded

It's very unlikely that this could be done without you knowing. Because most camera DVRs have a time stamp watermarked on the video. So you would be able to see if a section is missing.
