The dealer indicated that I needed and wants to charge $1700 for a new engine wiring harness. The symptoms I am having are that which a faulty throttle position sensor would give. Should I solely focus on the t.p.s. or get a whole new harness?

When taking off and reaching anywhere close to 2000rpm the cars jerks and power gets reduced, an EPS light and engine light appears. The dealer told me that if I were to hit a bump then I wouldn't be able to do more than 20mph, well I hit a bump I guess because its struggling to reach more than 12mph. I start my vehicle daily even if not driven, however the last time after a few seconds it jerked and cut off. I have never had this problem until the same dealer replaced my water pump, it seems like Everytime I visit a dealer to one problem I leave with another.. trying to avoid their ridiculous fees if not needed.
