If you are close to getting a degree, I would definitely stick with it. You will make more money with a degree, and then the money spent on college won't be wasted. The higher amount of money will help you move out of your mothers house faster than a low pay job even while waiting. Is it possible for you to get a part time or night job while attending college?
Have you ever tried online courses? I too am I single mother (24 with a two year old) and live at home. It sucks big time. We argue a lot and my mom likes to step in when she doesn't think my parenting isn't good enough. But I've stuck it out and I am finally getting to move out. I am working full time and have 2 night course and 3 online classes starting next semester. I've got about 2 years left and right now I am going to have to buckle down and work hard but it's going to be worth it. I don't know where you are located, but you might try finding somewhere you think might be beyond you. Where I live there are several high end corporations that I always bought you had to be a hot shot to work at, but my sister and cousin started with nothing to give them better odds and they are making great money, and since they work hard they are advancing. My sister may never have a degree, but if she continues to work her way up she will make triple what I make with teaching degree that I am going for. But what I'm saying is there are lots of options. Think about it long and hard. It took me two years but I'm ready for what's to come next. You've got this girl.
