There is a norovirus going around my college campus that everyone is getting. I have had 10 different people I know get it this week. Last Saturday, I had no appetite and then I woke up saturday during the night feeling like I was going to throw up. I never did actually throw up, but then all day sunday I felt nauseous. I also had awful diarrhea all day sunday. Then, I felt weak and tired and my stomach felt off every time I ate food until Wednesday. Do you think that I had the same thing as everyone else? Also, my boyfriend woke up early this morning throwing up. He has thrown up all throughout the day and feels like he has a fever. Since it is Valentine's Day, I would like to at least be with him a little. Is what he has the same as what I had? Will I get what he has again?

The probablility is that you will get what he has if you have not already got it. The severity will depend on your immune system. The norovirus is the "new flu" IMHO and it keeps coming around and is very infectious. All you can do is eat fresh fruit, drink water and stay healthy to mitigate any effects of the illness. At least it's only a 48 hr bug normally.. I feel for you I've had it twice in the past two years and every time was awful. Thanks goodness it isn't a killer.
