I got my Fire HD Kindle wet and it has died. Can I transfer information to my new one?

I have a lot of books on my Kindle Fire HD and I would like to transfer my books to my new Kindle.  I am unable to turn on the old Kindle and I never saved my books to the Cloud.  Can I still transfer?

If you have backup of your old kindle on computer or cloud, then you can transfer your data from computer or cloud to new one.
