Long story short, I filed a small claims lawsuit and want to settle (not because I don't think I'll win; I just don't want to take off work for court, travel there, etc.). Should I write a letter to the defendant's registered agent (defendant is a company) letting them know I'm willing to consider a settlement and drop my lawsuit if we reach an agreement?
