I don't know anything about gaming PC's (or PC's in general)?

Can someone help me?

Ive started getting into gaming PC's. And, I'm planing on buying one soon. However, I don't know jack shit about PC's.

What are all the different graphics cards, which ones are better?
What does it take to make a PC run? 

Ive tried searching up on the internet "All the things you need to know about PC's" But all I get are "How to build a gaming PC"

When I mean I don't know anything, I mean I don't know anything. I don't want to ask my friends and seem like a total idiot.

Can someone give me a link to something that will tell me what are different specs to a PC and what they do? Or if you have time, you can tell me your self. 
(But I doubt you want to sit here and give me all this information through typing. It would take a while..)

I forgot Hard drive above.  for cpu you want 4 or more cores for gaming pc and about 3 ghz or more. ram u want at least 8 but i'd recomend 12-16. motherboard any will do. graphics card depends on u. the best in the world at this point in time is the gtx 980ti (non reference). its $750 though. but you can look at videos and stuff for the best gpus for u. power supply also depends on your graphics card and other pieces of your pc. Hard drive i'd recomend a 1 or 2 terabyte sshd.
