What Is Food?
Food is defined as “nutritive material absorbed or taken into the body of an organism for purposes of growth or repair.” It is “anything that nourishes, develops or sustains.” Too much of any one food will not supply the nourishment your body needs. A balanced diet with a combination of different foods for example, meat fish, vegetables, starches, milk products etc.
You must ignore the simplistic proclamations of the uninformed: “If you didn’t overeat, you wouldn’t be overweight!” They make it sound simple, but it is very complex. It is true that if you do not eat more calories than you burn up, you will not gain weight
What is important is do not look for excuses to eat foods that contains too much starches and fats. These food groups are good when eaten moderately.
