My 5 year old son has started kindergarten this year and become best friends with a little girl in his class that he wants to give a gift to for her birthday. This little girl also happens to be Muslim, I think, because she wears a Hijab at all times and I've seen her mother and sisters do as well. My son asked if we could give her a scarf because she even wears one to cover her ponytail everyday and I guess that's just what he thinks would be a nice gift for her. I truly don't know if this would be offensive or considered a no no because I really don't know much about the religion. Can someone please help me with some info to avoid making anyone feel uncomfortable or offended in this situation? Thank you in advance!
