... energy and I was wondering if you had a perpetual motion machine and converted it to create energy off of motion could that be infinite energy and allow you to travel at the speed of light?

Everything we know about "speed of light" came from Einstein. After a hundred years of arguing, scientists have started to agree that he was probably right, but they still haven't learned anything that proves anything he said.
Energy is not a physical unit. It is a philosophical concept and an accounting technique used to analyze mechanical and chemical exchanges. In nuclear physics it is defined as a wavelength of light, in biology it is a synonym for metabolism, and in public utilities they say energy when they mean connectivity.
Perpetual motion is a concept made up by people who had no basis in modern physics. Here is a fascinating idea, but there has been no development: www.cheniere.org/misc/astroboots.htm and here is the application: www.cheniere.org/megstatus.htm Tests found it not reliable enough for commercial use.
