I am renting a place & I caused (accidentally) some damage to the exterior door. Will my landlord just keep my security deposit, or how should i go about this?
Also, am i aloud to call someone to come and repair the damages.
( I really do not even want to tell my landlord, so if there is anything i could possibly do without telling him. I doubt it, but any advice will be great! )
If i should tell him, do I do it now, or wait until my lease is close to ending. I really don't want problems with him and i paid quite a few months in advance.
I caused damages to a rental apt. & not sure what to do?

Best bet is to tell the landlord what happened and find out how they want to proceed. They might have you purchase a replacement or pay for the repairs, however if you attempt to fix it yourself or have somebody repair it before talking to the landlord, you could end up having to pay for the job to be redone to the landlords demands. Its best to take care of this right away so you're not stuck with a last minute task when trying to move out.
If you are able to fix this issue by your own then go for it. And if you don't know how to repair the damaged door then be frank to contact your landlord. Damaged door is not a big deal, your case would be easily consider by your landlord and you don't have to worry about the security deposit.
