I can NEVER sleep strait away and it's hard as it's effecting my work and revision and anxiety. I also am constantly scared and seem to think something's going to get me at night or I'm being followed and always run down the stairs as I'm scared that something's behind me. I know there's nothing there but sometimes I just feel scared when I'm overtired and can't sleep. I just can't sleep.

This could be because your thinking too much about yourself, it may help if you think about what you have to do tomorrow or make some plans on how to get your work done easier, this may stop you thinking too much about yourself. Watch something funny and analyze why it was funny and why these people behaves in this way. Or watch a sad life stories but not crime stories and think about how to solve these problems. This may help you see something different.
Do not watch, read or listen to crime stories, instead focus on the problems of the world this days like hunger and global warming and why this is happening and what should we do?
If you have an iPod or laptop have it on your bed and watch funny YouTube videos while your in your bed trying to go to sleep, do not watch sad things right before bedtime. Have your aircon on nice and cold and be under a thick blanket, your eyes should be relaxed while your eyelids are closed, sleep on your side not back, your eyeballs should be pointing at your bed due to the gravity and not straight with your head, if this happens you may not be relaxed and it takes a long time to sleep.
I hope this helps. Talk to me if you have more questions.
