... day. It was running perfect no noises or any problem. I put a full injector cleaner in it on a full tank of gas. I got up the following day and it was puttering a little I thought maybe just because it was cold and wet out. I got on the highway and it started to act like it was what I assumed to be miss firing. I pulled off to the side of the road and it was making a decently load noise what sounded like a push rod hitting the valve cover. I turned around drove it home, making this noise the entire time, it seemed to not be running on all cyclinders. When I got home I pulled the spark plugs noticed they were pretty old looking an had a lot of dirty black stuff on them. I changed the plugs wires distributer cap and rotor button. Fired it up and it was still running the same way and same noise. I also noticed it had white smoke coming out of the exhaust and had a strong gas smell from the exhaust. I had a friend look at it, not the best with diagnosing problems and he told me that the motor is junk. I didn't believe him, I went out the next day to see how it was running and the noise switched side of the motor and was coming from under the other valve cover. I have no idea what is going on, but I just have a feeling it's nothing major. Any thoughts?
