I am trying to turn my camcorder into a nightvision camera. I ran across a blue glass. Do I remove?

I watched videos,but they show a red ir filter glass which when removed allows the camera to pick up on ir light. My camera has a CMOS sensor and has a blue glass. Do I remove this?
