I am flying from Florida to Frankfurt and I have a layover in Dublin, Do I need two passports?

Details:

I need to know what I need to do to fly to frankfurt. I'm worried that when I stop in dublin, I might get stuck there or something because I only have a passport for germany. Please help.

You can go to any European country with your European (German) passport. No problem. But you will probably not leave the airport anyway in Dublin, presumably.

If you want to visit Ireland you will need an Irish Passport,otherwise you will be confined to the airport.

They don't hassle people waiting for connections. The airport is considered a neutral venue: you have not entered the country until you try to leave the airport.
