I am about to buy foreign bills from someone. What happens later if the bills are reported stolen?

I plan on collecting it but I am new to foreign bills. What happens if the foreign bills are reported stolen? Or if I later decide to cash it in. Am I liable if it gets reported stolen?

Answer

The only good reason to buy foreign bills is to pay a tax in the issuing country. Otherwise you should only buy precious metal ingots.
