... marjuana in 2001, I went to a recruiter and he stated that because of my 2001 misdemeanor I am not eligible ! He stated that budget cuts no longer gives waivers ? Is this true ? Any advise on help to join I am in the process of getting it expudged , will that help me ?? Should I try going to different recruiters will someone take me ? I am so upset with my past and trying to straighten my life out for my family and I . I have always wanted to join the army , any advise help ??? Any recommendations ?

if a marijuana and DUI charge is all you have then i don't why that recruiter said you couldn't join. i heard you need to be younger than 35 to join so you should be allowed. i got to speak with two recruiters in high school and they said as long as your able to put any prejudice behind you and your not doing drugs for at least a year then you should be allowed to join. i've never heard anything about cutbacks being the problem.
