I would recommend encouragement only, through positive motivations. Maybe ask what is troubling him/her. One mistake I have seen with teachers is that they immediately turn towards aggression to make their students stop but this may make the child worsen at controlling his/her emotions at home if not school. If it becomes a necessity because the child is getting out of hand and disturbing the peace of the classroom, do not give him/her any attention until they stop whatever it is they are doing. And after they stop make sure to treat them.
