For Chinese ancient emperors, there were quite many though.
As I know:
1. Centralization
Doesn't like the Europe 'Lord', most Chinese emperors would prefer to control everything, especially the entire army. Every single 'solider' had a 'link' that could reach to current emperor through commanders. Of course there were many times that certain 'Lords' or 'Kings' that had their own military power. And it turned into wars for most of time.
2. The development of production
Several dynasties in China several thousand years history were the richest 'country' Narrow sense of course. There are numbers I heard from history professors that says our GDP was 75% of the entire world or something which I don't quite believe but I'm sure Chinese goverment, especially emperors (back to your question) were always RICH for most of the time. All these could because of doing business with 'countries' around or simply development of agriculture, handicraft etc.
3. Draconian laws
Ancient people were all pretty creative of making people feel pain, don't want to discuss too much details here. In a word, make people scared
4. Religion
Buddhism and Taoism were and are the main 'Religion' in China (Some people say there are not actually 'Religion' though, I'm not quite sure).
Adds all above up, that's how I would say Chinese emperors create stability
