To tell you the truth, it wasn't. It's a misconception that the Versailles Treaty was a cause of WWII when in fact Germany's WWI economic debt was paid off before the outset of war, and Hitler simply used "Western Influence" and the Versailles Treaty as an scapegoat to bring himself to popularity and power. When you really look into it, the problems the Versailles Treaty caused were basically gone by the time WWII rolled around.
