hello everyone.. so I have been doing some studying about black-body and black-boy radiation but I can't seem to really understand them well so I have thought that there might be some things that I would need to have a background of before being able to fully understand these subject and so my question is what are the stuff that I would need to know in order to understand the subjects mentioned earlier?....note that I'm an astronomy student in my second year so I hope this can help you guess what I already know and sorry if my English is bad and finally thanks in advance :)

I thought about what you said "the campfire" and I think I finally understand black body radiation now XD
When scientists talk about "black body" they mean soot: that is the only black body that has been studied, and they just assume that all other bodies behave the same. There is no reason for that assumption, they just never studied anything else.
I agree with you but however I do understands the definition of black body quite well but when it comes to black body radiation not so well, I think that what I really don't understand is why somethings like the sun are considered somewhat a black body but I can understand why black holes are considered almost perfect black bodies so I know I'm missing something but I just couldn't find, but I do admit if my English was better I wouldn't have had the same difficulty understanding them.
