So recently I've been seriously depressed (I won't go into discussion) and I started thinking about self-harm. I haven't done it before but today I hit myself. To be honest I can't stop thinking about it and how much I want to do it but I'm scared. How do I stop thinking about self harming?!

Hi, whilst the other person is right that you may need to look at getting some medical support you can use some distraction techniques that may help you avoid self harming.
One of the techniques that is quite commonly used is popping a rubber (elastic band) around your wrist and snapping it against your wrist when you are feeling low or like you need to self harm. Or you could try swapping out the feeling about self harm with something you enjoy.
Basically trying to distract yourself from those feelings as and when they arise before you feel the need to harm yourself, a lot of people use self harm as a way of coping but maybe you could try to ring a helpline when those feelings arise might help?
