Say I am willing to give away stuff on a regular basis.
So I start a thread in a social media.
I trying to figure out a way to choose the lucky commenter.
I thought It could be every Nth commenter, but it would be become difficult to keep the count, at some point.
I also thought to use the comment time but most social media do not show precise commenting time.
Any idea?
How to select the lucky commenter in a social media comment thread?

I owe you an apology, daf. Guess I was having a rough few days (or weeks), then just chose to misinterpret the situation in the worst way and relapse to lashing out passive aggressively.
I share your distaste for the platform (what form of social media did you have in mind, otherwise?), though one useful piece of advice on that link (had it been relevant) was choosing randomly from amongst the likes - that removes any duplicates & bias and gives a concentration of interested parties, conveniently. No sarcasm in sparing such tedium.
Thanks for the kind word, that would quite suffice.
Apology accepted FauxPas.
Can we be friends here or anywhere? Or are we already?
It is Linkedin that I had in mind. The only SN I have been able to put up with (On and off, to be frank).
I reiterate my offer regarding having your name written.
PM me if you're interested.
Wishing you a successful life.

Aye, consider my virtual hand extended in amity; I've no objection other than not quite actively partaking in any fora.
Whilst the offer is most gracious indeed, and in spite of fondness towards fair calligraphy in general, it is by a matter of aversion towards my name that I would prefer to decline. However, if you're willing, I'd appreciate a token gift for the sake of my friend, Ash: help-qa . com / users/112-nevermind
Likewise, may fortune extend its blessings to your ventures henceforward. I know well how difficult self promotion can be, feeling as though one is pushed aside by the vast supply of cheaper, more prestigious or talented professionals; forsooth, to that I can only say - 頑張って, or keep it up.
I am touched by your friendliness, FauxPas.
Some names are indeed less transcultural than others.
The writer bears one of them.
Nevertheless, if the problem is acoustic, then this is something calligraphy transcends, as it only exists to please the eye.
This is the last time I permit myself to ask you to give it a try.
I have Ashley's design file ready.
So please let me know the best way to send it to you.
Best wishes.
DafEZ.
For me it's more of a general antipathy towards the concept of a name as a confining construct. Don't worry about it.
That was quick. Pardon the ignorance, but what does this design file comprise? If it's an image, then a direct link to any photo sharing service would do; if it's some other type, uploadfiles . io seems alright.
Done.
See you around.
I tried to send you the download link via Private Question, but to no avail.
?
This site filters out anything containing links. Try adding spaces around the periods and first slash (/), as in my first comment.
Worked just fine.
Thanks.
DafEZ.
Thanks for the answer FauxPas.
I do not wish to pay for this (Rafflecopter ), or use f***book.
No pr stunt here.
Self-promotion is not immoral.
I don't sell material goods.
I provide digital calligraphy services.
So it is not about "needing" but rather "wanting".
I do help locally, and consider my self a lucky positive social actor.
That isn't something you could have known, although you could have assumed it.
I might just choose prominent comments, so it looks like you're THE lucky commenter for today.
If you want your full name written in beautiful calligraphy, please let me know here and now.
I'll be really happy to do that for you.
Un faux pas pour un bon bond.
