I don't understand how to answer the question if the interviewer says "tell me the story of the novel that you last read" I don't understand how much I have to say and in which speech means in past tense or present tense.How to narrate a story?

Because you are requested to narrate the novel you LAST read, you use past tense. You can start it with: "The story goes like this..there was a girl..". To summarize the climax, you can say.."and the journey of that girl begins.."Just summarize the story plot and come with the important points like the characters within the story. At the end, reflect the story in real life (better if you reflect it in your own self) and site some moral lessons you got. Btw, don't get too long in narrating otherwise, it will make the interviewee bored of your story.
