How to make yellow hair more blonde?

I took in a picture to the hair dresser today and she decided bright yellow was the colour I showed her which, was most definayely not.. I didn't say anything as I didn't want to upset her, so I'm wondering if there is a way to get rid of the yellow and leave it bleached, or if I could even bleach it myself

You can use lemon juice in your hair at shower time if it is sunny outside
You can buy a bottle of "sun-in" at your local Walmart for just a few dollars and wear it if your going to be going out for the day and it is sunny. 
You can buy hair lightener at any store with hair products and use that.
Or just go to the extent of dying it a lighter blonde than your hair now
