for a school project i need to make a homemade turtle tank. I already made a tank but i need help on the dock, decoration, ect. This must all be home made or have cheap/household supplies. i cant go buy a dock of make a fiberglass one. remember im in middle school. if you guys (and gals) have any information you can give me than thanks. I need all info by friday may 27. thanks people.
P.S. Remember try to make these things eather house hold or cheap.
Hey I'm in middle skool too and i aff a pet turtle. (Sorry my keyboard is messed up so I kant type like 3 letters. I kan spell, but bekause of dis, I sound really stupid). Wat klass is dis projekt for? How many turtles are dare, and ow big are day? Wat did you make da tank out of, and ow big is it? For da dok, a really dense piese of plastik dat kan be slung on wit a waterproof wire or someting kan work. Da turtle is semi aquatik rite? Can you buy grafel from da pet store? Its probably a lot safer dan some random roks. Udderwise, just get some from a lokal stream or someting and get dem really klean wiff water(no soap!). Wiff a brite lamp leaning ofer, its perfekt for a turtle. I'm really sorry about da typing, and good luk!
Hey, My keyboard's fixed now. If your teacher wants you to apply volume and stuff, you could use the amount of gravel as an example. I mean, measure the height, length and width or whatever of the area and find the volume that needs to be filled with gravel. If you only have to use cardboard then it shouldn't be too difficult. With projects, I always recommend a hot glue gun. They are great for sticking stuff and they're like $5 at walmart. If you are keeping it dry, and still want the turtles to go on the dock, lean a piece of cardboard for a ramp (If it was full with water, the turtles could just float up). I would just stick to 2 turtles, because 5 turtles would need you to make a pretty big tank. I would say around 2ft by 2ft by 2ft is a good tank size.
my current tank is about 3 x 2 x 4 and im using fake turtles
I have 2 turtles. but this math project requires me to make it with out water so cardbord works. i used plastic and wood. I need to make it and find things like volume, surface area, and how much water in it. I am using (as an exaple turtle) 2-5 (depending on size of tank) yellow bellied sliders.
