okay so I put around 3 tsps of coconut oil in my hair and left it in for a couple hours - I have really thick and long hair so I thought it was suitable and seemed to follow the guidelines I had read up online etc. after washing it with shampoo 6 times and conditioner at least 4 times its it still stuck in there. I am washing it with warm and hot water and it just won t budge, I m supposed to be going to a meal in a couple of hours and I m just getting stressed out now I ve already had to cancel meeting some friends this afternoon pls pls help me iM SITTING HERE ALL MAd WITH AN OILY SCALP I will literally marry the person who helps me get this out :-((((

Not sure if you still need an answer, but here it is (btw, I think the problem is that you're not thinking about the properties of oil).
Considering that you've already tried regular shampoo, test clarifying shampoo - it's designed to get oil, wax, etc. out of hair. If that doesn't work, get some dishwashing detergent and wash your hair with that. Important - use a lot of conditioner after this, as the detergent will strip your hair of its natural oils and only do this once. If there's still a bit left in, then make a paste out of baking soda and water and apply it to your hair, roots first, then work through the rest. Put your hair in a showercap and wait for fifteen minutes before rinsing it out.
As someone who also has very long, thick hair I can empathise with this problem as I've faced it myself before. Hope it's fixed soon :)
