I am also 11 and in the 5th grade. I am a girl and I think you should go for it! If you know you like this girl you should maybe say something funny. And set the mood so it's not awkward (actually it will probably be awkward no matter what!) but If there is a guy you are scared of because you both like a girl who cares?
