I have this friend who has ADHD. We're not mega-friends, we just seem to know each other, as he hangs around my friendship group. The problem is, he's got ADHD, which I don't have a problem with, only that he seems to have a crave for attention. He'll start dabbing near us to get attention, yelling out random things like "I like men!" "I have cancer!" or "Oh, I farted!" every 30 seconds with his annoying squeaky voice, even going as far as to bring up porn during school just to try to get a laugh out of us. It finally got too far as he decided to sneak up behind me and strangle me in front of tons of other students. I have nothing against ADHD, but how do I get him to just calm down and see that he's annoying not only me but others in my friendship group too? If it's relevant, both him and me are 14.
How to deal with annoying ADHD attention-seeking friends?

Telling him he's annoying only seems to give him more attention, as he enjoys pissing us all off. He was even laughing as he strangled me.

Kids with ADHD don't often know what they are doing wrong. Giving him any kind of attention will only make it worse. I'm not saying to ignore him, just show him that he's not going to accomplish anything my being annoying. If he is pestering you but you still want to be friends, do stuff with him. He gets board and lonely easily, so keep him busy. But if you don't want to be friends with him, then send him a clear message expressing so. Best of luck!
