I want to get a penny nickel board but my parents keep saying I will get hurt, well isn't that apart of life? I mostly want it so I can skate to my mom's work and other stuff. So how can I convince them?

I own a penny nickel skateboard and I can tell you right now, they're not the easiest things to ride. They're dangerous and even though I'm in my teens, I must say, please wear a helmet. Safety first. I fell of of my skateboard and broke my wrist... 4 times. I know that sounds like a lot, but they were all for different dumb reasons. Let's just say, ramps are not the smartest idea when it comes to penny nickel skateboarding.
Anyways, just tell your parents the reasons why you want one and promise them that you'll be safe and wear protection and that you're only going to use it for transportation-- not dumb ramps and skateboard parks like me. Also, you could make a deal with them: if you injure yourself because of your penny nickel, you can be grounded from it for a week. If it happens a again, you can be grounded from it for two weeks. Add a week for every injury. If it becomes 5 times, they can take it away. When I say injury, I don't mean a broken nail or a scrape of the knee, I mean like you have to go to the ER.
Hope this helps, good luck on your skateboard if you get one!! (Don't end up like me)
