So the rankings in my store go from the manager -> supervisor -> leader -> associate. Since I started working, I have always put forward my best effort, always trying to work on something new and maximize how much I get done in a day. Whether is completing projects that revolve around setting up stuff, or cleaning/picking up trash. I even offered a helping hand out to another department, the technicians, since they were severely understaffed and I liked being there for people. I mean, we're all a team right?
Well, I that's what I thought. Recently, I began noticing more and more that people were slacking off most of their shift and got little to nothing done. They were also breaking the rules (ex: 1 hour lunch instead of 35). I didn't even get the $3 raise, but I didn't complain.
I have worked hard these months because I figured, I would be here for a year or two while my classes are still easy, so might as well make the best of it and get promoted. However, now that I began to really realize what was going on, I realized my manager doesn't seem to be fond of me sometimes. At times he jokes with me and pranks me, but most of the time, when I tell him serious things, he replies with just "k". I feel he recognizes others more and theyre more likely to be promoted simply because they are on a friend level with him. Like going for drinks.
Is it just me? What should I do? thank you!
