I have done a lot of research regarding recognising bipolar disorder however, I'm looking for more personal and realistic information. I suspect a loved one could potentially have bipolar and I would love to hear from someone who has been in my situation. I understand the basics of bipolar disorder but I fail to understand the level of extremity in mania and depression episodes to diagnose someone with the disorder. any information is appreciated.
How recognisable is Bipolar Disorder Realistically?

You would have to have your head somewhere that the sun doesn't shine in order to not see a manic episode. A person who is manic does not behave like normal people.
In the in-between times you might not notice too much although if you paid close attention and didn't make excuses for cute eccentricities or call the person outgoing you will notices symptoms. Too loud too active too much shopping too much talking too much something. When the manic portion kicks in there is no doubt. Behaviors, decisions, communication, planning all without common sense and very often bizarre.
You cannot diagnose someone, you are not a trained medical profesdional.
