How often does Google re-new its streetview maps?

There is no official set schedule, but it does update depending on the location. Google maps mainly updates much quicker in urban areas than rural areas. For example, NY is constantly updated due to the construction of the Twin Tower's and because there is rapid change of structures, buildings of homes/ neighborhoods, etc.
