It costs $144 a day to run the bumper cars, accounting for wages, electricity, transportation, and so on. There are 12 number cars, and, on average, 60% of them are occupied each session. The ride is open for 8 hours a day, with 4 sessions, and each driver pays $2 per session. How much profit is the owner making?

Ok well if I did the equation right it states 60% of bumper cars work per session which you break that down in fractions 60/100 divided by a number they can both be divided by 60/20=3 and 100/20=5 which 60% is 3/5.. You then take 12 bumper cars and divide that by 3/5 ... 5 going into 12 only 2.4 times then take 2.4x3=7.2 and you can't have a .2 bumper car therefore you round it to 7 bumper cars working. It doesn't state how many days of sessions so I assume it is just one 4 sessions in 8 hour period .. 4 sessions for 7 bumpwr cars 7x4 =28 working cars ... Then 28 cars x $2 per car is $56 which isn't any profit at all. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure I'm close to accurate unless anyone else wants to pitch in on the equation too on how they think it is solved.
Hope my answer makes sense. :)
Good luck!!
