How much greater gas milage (petrol) can be obtained by improved aerodynamic design of cars&trucks?

Enough that it's worth improving. The engine needs to counter the effects of the counter-force of drag, so as drag is decreased, the engine performance improves. Making a vehicle all curvy isn't the only way to decrease drag. By controlling airflow, a vortex can be prevented, or at least minimized.
