If you're single, under 65, and have no one who depends on you financially (such as kids etc.) and you make more than 10,000 dollars per year you need to pay taxes. if you're over 65 it starts at 11,500 dollars.

If you're head of household, it's 12,850 dollars, if you're over 65 and head of household it starts at 14,350.

If you're married, and filing jointly, it starts at 20,000 dollars. Over 65 [one spouse, starting at 21,200] [both spouses, 22,400]

married filing separately: 3,900. over 65 starts 3,900

widowed with dependent child: under 65 is 16,100. over 65 is 17,300
